NEW YORK COTTON: Holiday and year-end factors limited trading today but sentiment continued favourable both for the near and longer term trends. Good foreign and domestic trade dè- mand and moderate amount of price-fixing disclosed the scarcity of offerings. The trade expects the tight Spot situation to become more apparent and serious when Spring buying by the mills begins.
NEW YORK RUBBER: There was some small factory demand. Shipments were light and sellers were not pressing. Tire sales for the year are estimated at 30 per cent above those of last year and ex- pansion of 20 per cent tire sales is predicted, for 1940.
CHICAGO WHEAT; The diminishing of pressure following early liquidation on reports of moisture in the dry section indicates an im- proved technical position. There was a good demand from the milla and on short-covering. Heavy flour sales were reported.
