The market was dull and featureless, NEW YORK COTTON; January position lead the advance un- der.ccvering by shorts, scarcity of offerings, moderate price-nxing and better foreign demand. The "Spot" position is tight.

NEW YORK RUBBER: The easiness of foreign markets, the withdrawal of factory interest, larger dealer offerings and scattered December liquidation are depressing factors. Shipments are light with prices on an unworkable basis.

CHICAGO WHEAT: Cold weather in the North-West, continued dryness in the South-West and the firmness of Foreign markets were all steadying influences. The strength of cash. wheat was also a sub- staining factor. The Government acreage report shows 45,014,000 with the condition 55 percent of normal.

NEW YORK STOCKS: Previous close 149.13; Today's close

FROM ROZA BROS. Silver prices were lowered yester- day to the extent of 1/18 for Ready and 1/8 for Forward, the quota-149.10: Change of .03 tions being 23.3/8 and 23.1/2 res- pectively, Silver advices reported India

as having bought and Speculators as having sold. The market was

steady but quiet.j American Silver was quoted at 34.
