CHUNGKING, Dec, 18 (Cen- tral)-More than 30 public organtations in. Shanghal are forming a Shanghal Citizens' Foodstuffs Adjustment Assòcia. tion with a view to stabilizing the rice prices which have scared skyhigh recently. The Shanghai Beans and Rice Merchants Union, at a meeting on Saturday, passed a resolution to further lower the price to $40 for HONGKONG best quality and $32 for second quality rice.

Most of the salt for military use. In Honan and Shenst provinces following the outbreak of the war has been from the Northwest, of which Alashan Banner is the most notable salt producing district.

The meeting" also decided to petition the Shanghai Municipal Council to protect legitimate, rice merchantä.
