The price for Ready Silver was unchanged at 23.1/2 but the for- ward rate rose 1/18 to 23.5/8. Silver advices reported market quietly steady with small Indian buying with sellers at 1/16 over. American Silver was quoted 34.3/4.

Sterling

The market was firm on London buying. COTTON; Barly Trade and foreign demand met with increased hedging and realizing. The difficulty in shipping is becoming an important factor, in spite of the business outlook here and the con- fidence in the market's ability to advance. The Spot' position re- mains tight.

RUBBER:" The strength of the market reflects the firmness of the primary markets and the continued reports of London buying to fulfill the Barter agreement. The spot position is tight. Manufac- turers are reported to be the best buyers

WHEAT: Prices were esaler on liquidation and realizing. ports were lacking. There was no change in the unfavourable wea- ther, news.
