COTTON; The market to-day reflected the confusion regarding the European situation and the uncertainty of the neutrality legislaTM tion. Prices moved irregularly in light volume of business with many traders on side-lines. "Spots" are firm and there has been an improved trade demand which met with limited amount of hedge- selling.

RUBBER: After a firm opening on the strength of London prices, the market eased on a moderate amount of dealers' hedging. Commission Houses were buyers, while manufactures are showing not much interest.

WHEAT: Prices were somewhat erratic and easily influenced by unfavourable weather which continues in South-west, The foreign market is no new incentive to induce good buying. The late easiness was attributed to poor exports and the confusion of War news,

HIDES: Tanners are showing not much interest

apparently awaiting more reasonable offerings. The seasonable increase in sup- plies continues to be a detriment to higher prices.

(Reuter), With firm conditions prevalling, the market opened quiet with cash at 4-29/32 for Sterling, and 8-7/32 | for US Dollars, but later harden- ed quickly to 5-3/32& 8-1/2 respec- tively. The advance of the Chinese Dollar is attributed to small selling orders, outport selling and complete absence of buyers.
