A Shangtung Police Constable, of the Hongkong Police Force, appeared before Mr. R. A D. For- rest, at the Central Court yester day, on a charge of extortion.

The defendant, named Trou Teh-yuen, 24, was alleged to have extorted the sum of one-cent from Bhawker, Chan Eing, on October 9. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to Oct 30, when the case will be heard.
