VIM GAINS NARROW VICTORY AT COWES

U.S. Yacht Beats Tomahawk

The Royal Yacht Squadron ended their four-day regatta at Cowes recently, when rain fell in torrents and bright intervals were few. However, there was some good racing in a moderate northeasterly breete falling ligfi; in the afternoon, writes the "Daily Telegraph” correspondent.

The American yacht, Vim, won the 12-metre race of 27 miles by only 42sec. She had been 1 min. 3sec. ahead at the end of the first round, so Tomahawk, which, as usual, was her nearest divat, made a slight gain late in the match, which was closely" contested:
