Mr. Francis Willam` Tyḍler, who at the age of five was with his parents during the Siege of Delhi has died at Battle, Sussex. He was the son of Colonel R. O. Tytler, and his two brothers-Stanley Delhi Force, who was born at Delhi during the Indian Mutiny and is now in Call- formla, and Major-General "Sir H. C. Tyler are still

alive.

Lord Roberts, in his "Forty-One Years in India" mentioned the circumstances of this family's experience of active service. When Anson's force was being. formed for the advance on Delhi, Tytler was placed in charge of the mili- tary treasure chest, and through SÜTIG unaccountable negligence Mrs. Tytler was allowed to company him.
