ICHENG, HUPER, May 3 (Central)-Military operations in central Hupeh have been intensified. After massing large con tingents of reinforcements at Chungsiang and Yingshan, north- west of Hankow, the Japanese have renewed their offensive.
The Japanese at Yingshan and its neighbourhood are driv. ing westward. Bliter fighting is taking place around. Siho, west of Kingshan, Poison gas is alleged to have been used by the Japanese. Both sides have suffered heavy casualties.
