APRIL-JUNE
Throughout the session the market displayed a steady undertone due to improved conditions prevalling in London and New York. Fair demand for "spot" Rubber induced good enquiries for forward post- tions by dealers and speculators. The better sentiment was also cans- ed by reports of heavy floods in Slam which, it is believed, will ac- centuate the shortage of nearby Rubber. It is assumed that this fact coupled with an improved demand from London and New York might force up prices in Singapore in the near future.

It is, however, well to bear in mind that the Singapore market is following London and New York, where conditions would seem to be largely governed by outside influences, such as the European political situation, the trend of the London-New York Cinss-cate. the move-. ments of the London and New York Stock-markets etc.
After a fair volume of business having been transacted at quoted 'rates. the market closed with a quiet, but steady undertone.

NEW YORK COTTON
Early in the day, the market moved within narrow mits, with higher Liverpool advices and covering being partially off-set by liquidation. Later, however. prices advanced on firmness on Wall Street and on Trade and foreign buying and the market finally closed steady
NEW YORK RUBBER
The market opened quietly higher on better cables from the for- eign markets and prices advanced further under the Influence of the firmer trend on Wall Street and on moderate commission-house buy- ing... Later, prices additionally hardened on buying by foreign in- terests and by the Trade and all offerings were well absorbed.
CHICAGO WHEAT
After opening steady, the market gradually lost ground under the „pressure of liquidation, lower Liverpool advices and professional sell- Ing. Later, in the day, good absorption of dealer offerings was QT- set by indifferent reports from the foreign markets.
