Ireland
INTERNATIONAL. SOCCER WIN
London, Nov. '16. William Hall, of Tottenham, playing at inside right for gland, in a brilliant display of opportunisma, and marks- manship. scored five goals and helped England to overwhelm Ireland in the International Soccer
match at Manchester to-day by seven goals to fil
Hall's feat. of scoring five times was an England International re- cord, and his three goals, in three minutes becomes the first of in- ternational fast scoring records.
The Irish defenders were unable to check the speedy English for- wards, who indulged in long swing- ing passes and brillant combina- tion.
The Irish forwards were given little of the ball by the English de- fenders, who were deadly in their tackling.
Other English goal-scorers were Lawton, the centre-forward, Mat- thews, outside right,
England led 4-0 at half-time. Ireland's defeat ensures that they will finish at the bottom of the International table.
CHANGE TO SIDES
One change was made in each side. Morris, the Wolverhampton right back, coming in to take the place of Sprvaston, who was in- jured, and Twomey, of Leeds, -playing in goal for Ireland instead of Breen, of Manchester United.

CHARTERED BANK LOSE AT RUGGER
Chartered Bank opened scoring against Westminster Bank at Northfields with a try by Sandison, which Thom converted, writes a Home corespondent. Westminster replied strongly, and their superi×| ority in the tight scrummages was soon shown when Robinson dodged his way over and touched down, Grellier converting. Soon after this Chartered again took the lead through Angus, and Thom made sure of the kick, but in reply Desmond scored for Westminster just before half-time, and Grellier Hcked a Ane goal. “
Westminster attacked strongly in the second half, and Chartered were held on the defensive while Mears dropped a clever goal and Grallier Kicked well in the loose and line-out.. and Smith raced across and touched down for Chartered. Thom kicking his third goal Westminster asserted them- selves strongly in the last fifteen minutes, and Mills, Meers, and Robinson stored in quick succes- son, but all the kicks falled.
