London, November 15.
In the House of commons yesterday. Mr. H. Sutcliffe (Cons.) drew attention to President" Roosevelt's warning to Japan with re- gard to American trade with China, and asked whether the British Government would associate itself with the American action with the object equally of protecting British trade. Mr. R. A. Butler. Under- Secretary for Foreign Affairs, replied: "Yes."
Replying to another question, Mr. Butler said the Government had had no communication with the United States regarding the reassembly of the Brussels Con- ference, or the Nine-Power Treaty signatories.

Hitler Meets Schuschnigg
RECONCILIATION RUMOUR
Chancellor Hitler visited the deposed Austrian Chancellor, Dr. Kurt Schaschnigg, when the former was in Vienna re- cently, according to a Havas message.
It is also rumoured that the Fuehrer proposed reconciliation to the former Austrian Chancellor on condition that the latter, publicly approve Herr Hitler's policy during the forthcoming trial.
No information is available as to Dr. Schuschnigg's reply.
It is further reported in the same circles that after the Fuehrer's visit Dr. Schuschnigg was permit- ted to see Countess Vera Fugger. whom he married by proxy and who advised him to accept the Fuehrer's proposals.
