This Captaincy Question
To The Editor. The liongkong
Daily Press
cer-
Dear Sir." Not Cricket" tainly talked sense when he suz gested Donald Anderson as cap- tain of the cricket team that is due to go to Shanghal
I quite agree with the Sporta Editor that as long as the invita. tion is extended by the Shanghai the Hongkong Cricket Club to Cricket Club, the latter must have the privilege to select the cap- tain.
In the interest of cricket and in keeping with the highest traditions of the British national game, however, I am sure the H. K. C. C. authorities will not mind if a non-Club member led the team Yours etc.
UMPIRE Hongkong. September 23.
IT SEEMS: SO
ABSURD"
Dear Sir,What is all this I hear about the Interport cricket captain having to be a member of! the H. K, C. C.?
It seems so absurd and I am sure the H. K. C. C. authorities themselves will agree that there is no hard and fast rule regarding this. Or am. I, perhaps, taking too much for granted?-Yours etc.
