"A hideous challenge to humanity' Ras the description given by General Wu Te-chen. Governor of Kwangtung. of the Japanese machine-gunning and bombing of the C.N.A.C. plane, Kwellin, when interviewed by a representative of the Central News on the air outrage this morning.
General Wu said he was shocked to learn of the latest Jag- anese crime especially as many of the unfortunate passengers aboard. believed to have been killed, were his personal friends.
General Wu said that yesterday's Incident, was but another shocking example of what the Japanese see no reason to re- frain from perpetuating in spite of world-wide censure and con- demnation.
Immediately upon receipt of the news yesterday, General Wu declared, he has sent telegraphic instructions to Chungshan - make every effort to rescue the survivors and salvage the plan.

Sixty Casualties As Result Of Attack By 18 Planes
Changsha. August 25.
Scores of houses were demolished, about thirty people were killed. and an equal number wounded in a mass air attack on Changsha by eighteen Japatiese planes at 11:30 o'clock this morning.
Altogether about sixty bombs were dropped on several parts of the city, with the heaviest concentration on Tienhsin Road, East Station Road and Chingwu Road, along which rows of houses were set on fire or razed to the ground."
