Mr. G. Channing Smith. well-known local American broker, met his death under tragic circumstances in the early hours of yesterday. His · body was found on the roof of White House and it is be- lleved that he leapt from his office on the ninth floor of the Bank of East Asia building be- tween, 3 and 6 am. The body was entirely naked.

The late Mr. Smith, whose age was 47, was seen at a local cabaret on Sunday about midnight. He was last seen alive at 3 a.m. He had left his omce at 2 a.m. but returned at 3 a.m. He was seen by the office coolle who sleeps in the building. Investigations revealed that Mr. Smith had neatly folded his clothing.

Inquiries from some of his friends revealed that the late Mr. Smith was married, and had four children. He
