Madame Chiang's Efforts
To Relieve Child Suffering
作
Shanghal, March. 25.
A glowing tribute to the effort made by Madame Chiang Kai-shek to relieve the suffering of the child refugees was paid.. by Father Jacquinos who re-
cantly returned here from a trip to Hankow.
In addressing a Red Cross committee meeting, he declar- ed that Madame Chiang was using every ounce of influence within her great power to bring some comfort to the thousands of homeless chil- dren. He said that while in Hankow be formed the impres- sion, that all the Chinese leaders were of one mind, namely to resist until the terms offered were the only possible terms, for peace with honour.
43
Father Jacquinot revealed
that the National Government had promised a grant of $350,000 for the relief of Shanghal war refugees.—(Reuter).
