Shortly after the game.com- menced the Nomads settled down and concentrated on the Radio goal area. S. Reed was respon- sible for a number of individual efforts but had bad tuck in not scoring At the other end of play Gurbachar Singh played well and his stick work was pretty watch.

There was no score in the first half.

On resumption

of play the Radio launched an attack and forced a short corner. Jagett Singh hit the ball to Hassan, who in turn ficked it to Singh who scored the opening goal. Play was then confined to mid-held and after ten minutes the Nomads rallied. Reed passed the ball to Franco who made no mistake with the equaliser.

ILM.S. Cumberland,

Hong Kong. January 28th. 1938,

Dear Sir,With reference to the letter from "Dollar Seats" that appeared in your issue of today. I should like to inform him that

I am in HMS. Cumberland, very fit and willing to fight any maid- die-weight in the Colony includ- ing Battling Rio" who 1 under- stand has recently returned from Singapore. I agree with “Dollar Sents" that the lack of good box- ing cards in Hong Kong is to be regretted for undoubtedly there must be a great interest in the ̈“Noble Art" in the Services. 1. tect sure that the civilian popu- lation would give their support as they do to the "Canidrome" at Shanghal. This venue is packed to capacity each Friday » night, and I have recently had three fights there, twice as main events and once as semi-final the results being 1 draw and 2 wins in my favont while I have held the middle-weight Championship oi the China Fleet 1936-37, 1937-38.

I feel sure that a good boxing

#

card whether weekly or monthly 'would add to the amenities of the Colony for men of the Services who after the Cinemas have very little to interest or attract them. Subject to the permission of my Commanding Officer I'am willing to discuss terms with, any promoter who may be interested.-Yours, ote..

SEAMAN BOB HARVEY.

ANDERSON AND E. F. FINCHER

IN BIG PARTNERSHIP

In an enjoyable all-day game at King's Park yesterday the Kowloon Cricket Club juntor cricket eleven ran their seniors quite close and were beaten by tour wickets, after they had put up the fine total of 190" ruLS.

D. J. N. Anderson (93) and E F. Fincher (57) who figured in a sixth wicket partnership of 102, were Int chiefly responsible for the Eleven's win. Both had lucky mo- ments and if Anderson had been run out, as he would have but for a misunderstanding, before he got double-figures, it is possible there might have been a different result. The 102 rins were made in only 53 minutes after five wickets had gone cheaply...
