Silver prices were lower yester day to the extent of 1/18 for both deliveries, the quotations being 19 5/8 for Ready and 19 1/2 for Forward.. Silver advices attribut- ed, the drop to lack of support. After the omcial axing the mar ket remained quiet. American SU- ver was quoted at 44 3/4 for Spot. The London-New York cross- rate was quoted at 499.30. New York-London was quoted at 499,- 5/16.
