Despite the name they thus earned for inconsistency over the past ten years. Chelsea have sud- denly undergone a complete re- formation. Long-suffering Stam- ford Bridge crowds have not seen them defeated this season. A crowd of 58,000 ans packed the ground to watch the team fight their London rivals, Brenword; for the much-coveted top position.

Chelsea, F.C. was born at the end of asummer meeting of the Londen Athletic Club in 1904, when well-known local property owner, HA Mears bought the Stamford Bridge Ground. That evening he met a few friends in the salcon bar of a nearby hostel and revealed his ambition to form a football club. Plans to start a club that season were immediately negotiated. The ground was trans-

Last Hours

When the liner Reina del Pacífico, arrived at Bermuda with Mr. Ramsay MacDonald's body, it was revealed that he was apparently quite well on the tragic Tuesday morning, states the "Bulletin." He played deck games. but then com- plained of pains in the chest, and a doctor was sent for after lunch.

The doctor examined him," and Mr. Ramsay Macdonald said that the irregular pulse which the doctor, noticed was natural to him...

He took an indigestion mixture! and was well enough to have tea with the Bishop of Nassau In the afternoon.

The doctor was sent for again at 6.30 p.m.. when Mr. Ramsay Macdonald was gasping for breath. Oxygen was administered, but he died at 7.45 pm.

His death was recorded in the ship's leg as having occurred at that time.

His daughter, Miss Shella Ma-, cdonald, and the doctor were with him when he died.

A memorial service was held on board the Reina del Pacifico, con- ducted by the Bishop of Nassau and attended by the crew and passengers.

The Bishop quoted Earl Baldwin's speech at the Guildhall banquet, adding-"We are remembering be- fore God a man who held under the King the highest office in the State.

"He knew the disappointments and disillusionments which such high office entails but through them all he held firm to the great simplicities maintained by a living faith in God."
