A special meeting of. the National Council of Labour, re- presenting both the industrial and political wings of the British Socialist movement, last night called for an embargo on Japanese Imports.
The Council issued a declaration expressing its "deep horror at the barbarous and systematic
sacre, by Japanese "aircraft and submarines, of the defenceless Chinese civilian population."

Essen. Sept. 29. economic circles throughout the Reich, the address delivered in Essen by the President of Reichsbank and Minister of Econd mics, Dr. Hjalmar Schacht, was awalted with greatest interest.
Dr. Schacht said that the lead- personalities of the Third Reich were at one with him that under
