Speedwell, 1st Mine- sweeping Flotilla, in succession to Commander N V Dickinson. Commander Marsh has Hitherto been senior lieutenant-commaa der in the battleship Rodney. He served on the lower deck "during the War, and gained a commission as mate in 1920, whereby he be- came a lieutenant in 1923. Among
the ships in which he has served have been the cruiser Danae, the battle cruiser Tiger, and the battleship Valiant.

Old Resident Of Colony
FUNERAL YESTERDAY
An old resident of the Colony, who had been living here since 1890. passed away in the person or Mr. Neil August Johansenn whose death occurred yesterday at his residence in Sharp Street. He was 72 years of age and is sur- vived by a daughter and son.
When the late Mr. Johansenn came to Hong Kong he joined the Prison Department as a warden. He was later transferred to the Sanitary Department where he was 1 market overseer for 33 years. He retired on pension in 1931. Stu nctive he took up the post of cus- todian of the Government Recrea- tion Grounds at Happy Valley.
During his stay in the Colony he had made many friends and, was a prominent Mason belonging to the United Service Lodge.
A large gathering was present at the funeral which took place yes- terday, evening in the Protestant Cemetery. Rev. H. W. Baines con- ducted the funeral service, follow- ed by a Masonic service which was held by Masons of the United Ser- vice Lodge.
The chief mourners were, de- ceased's daughter and son whilst among others present were:-
