EXHIBITION
SPLENDID PICTURES
Beautiful and attractive are the photographs displayed on the first floor of the China Building at the First Anniversary Photographic Exhibition of the Yearly Competi- tion of the Majestic Amateur Photo Service.
Of the 800 photographs exhibit- ed, there are quite a number of excellent ones which display
in
splendid local talent, both variety and quality.
One of the best pictures is "Landscape." Another of the same class is "Low Tide."
Perhaps not the least skilful of all is the prize-winner of the year, "Chickens" which is really a marvel of artistic, accomplishment, with the black and white shades blending in perfect harmony.
The pictures are amongst the best enlarged and developed by the Majestic Amateur Photo Service, from Alms turned in by their clients, and are of an unusually high standard.
It must be noted that much of the knowledge acquired by ama- teur photographers is a credit to the Majestic on account of their periodical contests which are step- ping stones for the opportunista.
The exhibition. which is being held for a week, is well worth visiting.
A gulde issued with the Exhibi- tion carries reproductions of the finest of each section, and is being sold at a nominal charge in ald of Chinese war relief.
