MALTA WELFARE SECTION Their Lordships have approved of the establishment of a Family Welfare Section at Malta on the lines of those set up at the home ports in 1835 to advise and assist naval ratings and their families in ∙aný domestic troubles The or- ganization at Maita will be on a smaller scale than at the home ports, having regard to the smaller "number of men to be dealt with. but it will have the full-time ser- vices of a woman welfare worker under the direction of the com- manding officer. PROMOTION OF OFFICERS The results are announced of the examination (In written subjects) of officers with a view to promo- tion in the Regular Army, which was held in India and Burma in March. Of the Regular Army can. didates, 75 lieutenants, 24 captains, and three majors (one Royal Army Medical Corps and two Royal Army Veterinary Corps), were 'suc- cessful.
