PALESTINE SITUATION

Features Of Proposals In Commission's Report

London, July 7,

The outstanding feature of the proposals contained in the report now published of the Palestine Royal Commissions is the plan it offers for the partition of Pales- tine. The plan provides for term- inating the present mandate for Palestine and replacing it by the System: Treatles would Treaty declare that. within as short a period as convenient, two sover- eign independent states would be established.

One, an Arab state consisted of the Transjordan united with that part of Palestine which lies the east and south of the suggested frontier, and the other a Jewish state consisting of that part of Palestine which Iles to the north and west of that frontier.
