NAVAL CONTROL OF
SPANISH COAST
BRITISH PROPOSALS TO PATCH BREACH
Hope Of Bringing Back Germany And Italy
"London, June 17,
Informed quarters here stated at noon to-day that negotia- tions for bringing back Germany and Italy to participation in the naval control of the Spanish coast are pursuing satisfactorily in their course, but that certain matters relating to the question of consultations in the event of aggression against foreign warships, still require elucidation since--so it is added-it is evident that the 'ships must defend themselves if attacked,
The French Government's written reply has not yet been handed in here but it is, stressed' that during the verbal negotia- tions which have been carried on 'so far no objections have been raised by France to the British proposals.
It would seem, however, as though the French Government is desirous of making certain addi- tional suggestions concerning the reorganisation of naval control.— Traumpen News Service.
HOPES NOT LESSENED
London," June 7.
The German and Italian 'replies to the British control, proposals have not lessened hopes of an agreement between the 'four pow- ers responsible for non-interven- tion control.
मे
It is understood that the diver- gence of views is not considered too great to be bridged at an early dale. It is felt that if Germany and Italy seriously wished to abandon co-operation with the Non-Intervention Committee they would already have made clear.- Reuter.

"Germany has become distrust. ful. This time it is up to other
nations to be first.
"In the past other nations could have had the blessing of disarma- ment when Germany was disarmed. They ignored it, and only re- cognised this blessing when Ger- many had rearmed,"
Herr Hitler criticised democracy because of its strikes and unrest, He emphasised that only national socialism could achieve what Ger- | many had achieved in the last four
