in his morning track work and seems to have reached top form.

SHATIN HANDICAP

A very close finish should be seen in this mile race for "D" Class China Ponies, First Section. Fly- bynight (168 lbs.) has only recently been demoted and should run close. Gold Coin has on several occasions been rather hard on the public but this brown has not always had the best of luck. Valorous and Vic- toria Hall should not be far away especially the torier. Daylight Eve impressed me in his last out- ing and seems to be getting back to his old form. At the moment I favour Gold Coin. Valorous and Daylight Eve.

Electron. Gypsy Love and Lancashire Chips are others to be borne in mind. This race should be worth going a long way to see and I am certain the pace will be exceptionally fast and the finish a thrilling one,

LEAD MINE HANDICAP. The "B" Class China ponies will battle it out over approximately. five furlongs and T can do no bet- ter than recommend punters to follow the sprinters. In my opinion, King's Justice and Harvest View stand the best chances, as, both of them, especially the latter, get into their stride very quickly and may therefore be difficult to catch. Havoc Eve despite the weight (168 lbs) will give the two afore-men- tioned ponies a good race.

STONEGUTTERS' PLATE. There is really nothing outstand- ing remaining in the non-winning sub class and I favour National Anthem and Declasse for this No- vices Race, which is the first leg of the Dally Double. National An- them has been running excep- Monally well of late and as the race is from the two mile post once round and in, should find the dis- tance more suitable than Declasse. China Clipper should be able to get placed, Punters are inclined to look for outsiders in Novice Races and with this in mind I recommend Ling Long as a long chot. CUSTOMS HANDICAP (2nd Section)

This race is for C Class China ponies and I like the chances of Wild Cat Ythan is also quite handy over the distance (six fur- longs) and may place. Commer.co. ment Bag ran like a right down stinker at the last meeting but may improve in this sprint event Rose Evelyn seems to like Mr. Proulx's guidance and the combin- ation will be near. If Gordito is started he has an outside chance but I believe the stable connections are resting him for the big event on Monday.

SHATIN HANDICAP (2nd Section)

An exceptionally evenly balanced field will be on view for the last race of the day over 1 mile for "D" Class ponies. Racing Boy is about the best in this class though the weight may be a little too much A pony that should be close espe cially if well served in the jockey department is Tempest. This grey Is in fine fettle and will have to be carefully watched. Shipmaster is also in at a nice weight and may account for the field. Of the re-. mainder of the field, Araxy and Coronation Day are about the best. My final selections will appear to-morrow,
