Clowes. 259, Brassey's Naval Annual for 1937, the forty-eight year of its publica- tion, makes its appearance this year this month, following the pro- cedure introduced last year in order that the Nayy Estimates for the year may be included The late editor. Commander C. N. Robinson, who died last summer. first became a contributor in 1884, and had been editor, either alone or in collaboration with Mr. H, M. Ross, since 1929. His successor, Rear-Admiral. H. Q. Thursfield, the son of another old contributor. has himself contributed for the last three years There is 'thus no break in continuity of editorial policy, and, as in 1936, the book consists of two sections, dealing with naval affairs and naval air work respectively, and a reference
section.

(BY LONGSHOREMAN) During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, a total of 21 ships brought over 7,939 tons of cargo to the Colony and carried 33.424 tong for through ports. These ships brought 2203 Asiatic deck passengers to Hong Kong. During the period under review 18 ships left the Colony.

Captains Altham and Dewar write of for- eign navies and of the develop- ment of the international situation respectively, and the new German Navy is described by one of its own' officers, Fregattenkapitan.
