BUDGET - PROPHETS BUSY
London, April 15. Budget "prophets are at the bio- ment busy. They forecast actual expenditure of about £832,000,000, compared with a realised revenue Jest year of £802,000,000, leaving a balance of £30,000,000 to be found from taxation.

An increase of 3d. in Income tax is regarded as practically certain, and it is expected that the super- tax limit will be reduced from £2,000 to £1,500 a year.
It is thought that the motor tax may be restored to £1 per horse- power.

The Paris "Journal Official" very shortly to publish a decree setting forth the conditions upon which holders of French Rentes Block will be exempt from further payment of the 10 per cent. tax on yield. The bonds must be de- posited for a full six months pre- viously at specified banks.
