who gave a simply splenda pér- formance as the dashing and de- bonair

Artist young French "Bonn!" (whose debts, and vicis- situdes are the crux of the plot). He sang and played' his part with such virility and spontaneous charm that he will go down in the annuals of the Society as the best "Hero" who has ever ap- peared for them. He was absolute- ly the life and soul of the plece.

Becond only to him comes Anne Winter (The Street Singer), who, played the name-part with grace and charm. Her delightful voice was heard in varying types of song, and was equally good in all. The simple pathos of Heart's, De- sire was most appealing, but she was every bit as good in that lively "number "Follow Yvette." She was faultless in all her concerted work, and looked as sweet in her rags of the first act as in the gor-. geous gowns she wore later.

The Soubrette part was cleverly but-over by Elsie Alexander, as that lively minx Estelle, and she made the most of a light soprano In the amusing song "A Perfect Little Lady," dancing daințlly on several occasions.

Once again E. Cockle was con- tent to play only a small part, but played it superlatively well,

So well, in fact, that he might have stepped right out of Mourguet's

"Vie de Boheme.” His portrayal of Armands was just exactly» right. Another big success in a small part was scored by D. Kossick as the old Picture-Dealer. Most amusing in all his scenes, he was specially good in the trio with Yvette and Bonni "Fortune Has Smiled."

CATHEDRAL WEDDING

Webb-O'Hagen

The wedding of Mr. Robert Leslie

Miss Stephen Webb "and

Eve O'Hagen took place yesterday after- noon in the Lady-Chapel of St. 'John's Cathedral. .

The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. W. Baines The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Bunie and the late Mr. H. O'Hagen of London, and she was given away by her

COLLISION

(Continued from Page 1.)

A Police launch and launches of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha, which were in the vicinity rushed to the wharf to render assistance to the Night Star.

Sub-Inspector Sherheard, of the Water Police Station, proceeded to commenced in- the scene and

step-father Dr. Bunje, while the best man was Mr, A. C. Ellis and vestigations. Mr. A. A. Bremner fulfilled the duties of usher:

The bride looked lovely in a

POLICE REPORT According to a report made to

the police, Tsang Kam Shing", coxswain of the Meridian Star, stated that he departed from the riowoon, wharf at 5.40 p.m. and the Meridian Star was

princess dress of ivory ciree-satin, with a finger-length coat with short sleeves and wore a close fit ting hat of white flowers, with an eye-vell of white tulle, and carried when a bouquet of shaded rosea.

Evelyn Fullerton did not quite get there as the devoted and 8he Jealous girl-friend Marle. looked very pretty, but played, the part more as a Cockney from Whitechapel than as a smart little Artist's Model from the Quartier Latin. She should be less forth right, and more of # Vamp. Apart from this small criticism she spur kept her part going well.

Bob Henderson as Francois was very good and best of all in his scenes with the artful Uttle Dress- maker Violette, when he played up to her splendidly.

"HUSBAND NUMBER TWO"

As Violette, that very versatile actress, Nina Valentine made a great hit in a part different from any I have seen her play before, but which she attacked with de lightful vivacity and all her usual charmful personality. As the fascinating French Dressmaker on the lookout for "Husband Num- ber Two" she carried off her comedy scenes with a high hand, and put no end of sparkle into the amusing duet in the fast act, when she was well seconded by the re luctant lover Francois in the number. "What You Are to Me" which simply brought the house down.

Doris Hunt and Kathleen Winch did well in small but cheery parts, and so did Harry Talbot and Ernest Perry. Someone sang very nicely in the moonlight, and Jack Grenham and Gelstor Gilmour

Her bridesmaid was Miss Audrey about 200 feet north of the Hong Steele, who looked charming in Kong

wharf he sighted the dusky-plak French crepe, banded Night Star leaving the wharf at with flowers at the neck. She wore 15.45 p.m.

A few seconds later, Tsang con- with this a brown halo hat and shoes of the same tone, and car- tinued, the Meridian Star struck ried a bouquet of pale pink lark-the Night Star amidships on the port side.
