Customs authorities Kingston, Jamaica, decling to al low importers' to take delivery of textiles printed in Hong Kong im- leas it be agreed that the goods should be treated as regulated textiles under the quota law apply- ing to articles woven in Japan.

The Customs collector ruled that the term "printed within the Em pire" was insufficient to enable the importer to claim immunity from the restrictions prescribed by that law. Importers applied. to. the Court to direct, that the collec- tor should show cause why delivery was refused, but the Judge dismis- sed the application.

This decision will have a far reaching effect on the textile trade from the Far East, as large orders for goods have been placed, there during recent months.
