TSUI HANG FOILS SOUTH CHINA Programme For April

FORWARDS

Lai Shui Wing Scores Only Goal

(BY ROY MURRAY)

Although South China “A's" unaccountable debacle against Navy on Saturday may tend to ultimately endanger their cham- pionship prospects at the inal reckoning, they found maximum consolation in their overnight return to form by overwhelming Eastern yesterday,

Lee Wal-tong was a notable ab- sentee for the homesters. The de- plorable water-logged pitch proved master over the fundamentals of efficient football. At the offset South China forwards manoeuvred the greasy ball about the Eastern territory without result until Lal Shul-wing

the eventually put

from to a cross finishing touch Tso Kwal-shing. Only the specta- cular brilliance of Tsui Hang in goal kept out pile-driving volleys and Fung from a Shui-wing King-cheong. Conditions during the second period became worse the players presenting a pitiful sight. Eastern forwards, with the exception of Hon Ching-to seemed unable to manipulate the slippery ball. Pau Ka-ping having a feld day. The main men of a some- what farcical game were undoubt- edly Kwing Stu-hing at right back for Eastern and Tsui Hang in goal. The latter stood between Eastern and a heavy goal deficit Shul-wing's goal proved sufficient to supply South China with two valuable points..
