THE WEEK-END

Lai Wah Cup Final: Big Cricket Match

There is much to attract the local sporting fraternity during this week-end and a glance at the programme reveals many at- tractions in hunting, football, athletics and hockey.

At Pokfulam, this afternoon, undergraduates of the Hong Kong University will vie for honours at the annual athletic meeting.

In the Senior Division of the Football League, the Club travel to King's Park to meet the Recreio: Eastern meet Fusiliers at Cause way Bay; Seaforths are opposed to the Chinese Athletic at Sobkun- poo; and South China ““A7 are at home to the Navy at Caroline Hill. Police meet S. China "B" at Kow- Joon. Interest will obviously be centred on the South China "A" V. Navy Axture as the Chinese must win to maintain their hold on the leadership of the League and the ultimate championship.

The cricket programine is con- lined to friendly Axtures, and at Sookunpoo Mr. FM. el Arculli is leading a team against the Indian R.C. seniors who next week are to meet the HK.CO. in the all-im- portant deciding match for Senior Division shield honours. Civli Ber- vice are at home, to the Kowloon C.C, while the Junior teams of both clubs will also be engaged in a friendly Axture at King's Park

At Potts Bungalow, Fanling, at 3.p.m. this afternoon there will be a point-to-point meeting.

To-morrow's programme offers many attractions.

The Lat Wah Cup soccer final between the Army and the Civilians will attract a large crowd to the Kowloon F.C. enclosure and the kick-on is timed for 415 p.m. A keen tussle should be witnessed with the odds slightly in favour of the Association side. The Civilians team which has already been an- nounced includes "such stalwarts as A.V. Gosano, Leonard, D. Knox, Bickford, Beltrão, Costa, and George Rodger in goal.

The postponed - First Division League football match between South China "A" and the Eastern. is scheduled to be played at Caro line Hill at 4.45 p.m. There is also an interesting programme of se- cond and third division matches.

HOCKEY FINAL

The final of the International Hockey Tournament between Eng land and Portugal will be played on the U.S.R.C. ground at 3 pm. England's team is as follows:-

The Elis Kadoorie School for Indians held its annual sports meeting on the Indian Recreation Club ground yesterday.

Tilok Singh won the senior championship while Beban Ebrahimi was the junior champion.

At the conclusion of the events, Mrs. A. White, wife of the Head- master, distributed the prizes to the successful competitors.
