Messrs. G. A. Harriman dr Co's weekly share report and market review issued at noon to-day sta- tes:--

The local market continues active and strong with prices ge- nerally "much better on the week. Manila however has continued easy, with quotations further down over the period.

There has been a considerable turnover of business in Hong Kong stocks at advancing prices. Con- Adence appears to be returning and further appreciation seems as- sured. Hong Kong Electrica now ex the final dividend payment, are $571 buyers. Trams have been carried to $14.30, and with tempor- ary reactions, should go higher.. China Lights (old) are $14.30 and the New 311). Star Ferries had sales at $88 and $882, with sellers scarce. Yaumati Ferries are want- ed at $251, Sandakan Lights at $11.30 and Peak Trams at 24). Tele- phones (old) are $30 and the New $11.85.

Green Island Cements are popu- lar following publication of the annual report, which discloses a very satisfactory cash position al- though no dividend is declared and the profit is only moderate. There have been closing sales around $12.70. Ropes can be taken at $3.50 and New Constructions at 473 cts. Watsons are up to $4.80 and Lane Crawford have come in for attention with buyers hidding near $7.
