The China and Far East Section of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce has issued its report, and as far as China is concerned it makes melancholy reading:- Cotton plece-goods exports in 1933, 33,800,000 square yards; in 1934, 14,500,000 yards: in 1936 eleven months), 4,300,000 square yards. fall in The report ascribes the exports to disturbances in China, but acute competition is probably the answer.
