PEACE MOVES SUCCESSFUL Nanking, Feb. 4 It is reported that the mediatory efforts of Generals Koo Chuk-tung and Chen Cheng in negotiating peace terms between the recalcit- rant Generals Yang Hu-cheng and Yu Hsueh-chung and the Central Government have been successful. The troops of General Yang- Hu-cheng commenced to withdraw from Slanfu on February 2, while Chang troops of Marshal the Hsueh-liang's Northeast Army also began to withdraw under the supervision of military officers of the Central Government yesterday.

In order to maintain and pre- serve the loyalty of the officers and troops of the Northeast Army, it is the intention of the Central Gov- ernment to send Marshal Chang Hauch-Hang back to Slanfu to pacify and restore the confidence or his troops.

It is reported that Marshal Chang Hsuch-Hang will be ordered to fly to Blandu, when the time is opportune. Chinese Evening Press.
