Freight And Asiatic Passengers Returns

(BY LONGSHOREMAN). During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, the freight returns, received from the Har bour Office, showed a moderate tonnage movement.

HMS. Furious, of which Cap- tain J. W. Clayton has assumed command, will leave Devonport on January 18, accompanied by her Stronghold, attendant destroyer

and after embarking aircraft at Spithead will leave for Malta and Alexandria to join the Courageous and Glorious for the spring cruise period. The Furious will leave Malta for home on March 22, and should arrive at Spithead on March 30 and at Devonport on March 31.

It is notified in a new Order in Council that the Admiralty are of opinion that the rule governing eligibility to resume a former con- tinuous service engagement on re- entry into: H.M. Naval Force after invaliding and to retain any con- sequential pension privileges should be modified.
