absorption of idle men and women. At no time in Philippine history has the Escalta been so crowded as now. One meets many happy fzees these days which leads him to be- lleve that Christmas is not far off.

Many are making money on the market, there is no doubt about it. Those who make money help redis- tribute money and money is in greater circulation than heretofore. The once idle money in bank vaults is now going the rounds and bring- ing in immense benefit to the country.

The advance of general business already noted will continue and there appears to be no reason why any contrary opinion can be "sup- ported. Those who have the wel fare of the country at heart will always feel that the benefits of the stock market are really real Safe- guards, they believe, however, are necessary for making the stock market a permanent Institution. The government has already made this attempt by creating the Secur- Ity CommissiÍON.

Well regulated, the stock market will continue to contribute to the general progress of Philippine economic progress...
