Nanking, Oct. 23. Ever since the foundation and organizing of the Punitive Ex pedition for the suppression of communist bandits in the North- west, Marshal Chiang Kai-shek has not been able to give this im- portant matter his personal at- tention.

It is reported that at noon yesterday, Marshal Chiang Kaj- shek, General Chin Ta-kwen and a staff of over twenty oficials flew to Sian, the capital of Shenst Province, in separate aeroplanes to take command and direct the movements of the punitive army.

Ceremony At Heep Yunn School

His Excellency the Governor, Sir Andrew Caldecott, yesterday afternoon laid the foundation stone of the new CMS. Heep Yunn School, Kowloon City, thus commemorating the nalon of two Church Missionary Society Institutions, Fairies (1886) and Victoria Home [(1887).

The new school building is pleasantly located between the Central British School and the St. George's Bidlag School. There are three storeys. The bulding included two inner, tennis courts and a spacious assembly hall. The hospital and Isboratory will be on the top floor. Messrs. Chau and Lea are the architects and the building will be completed towards the end of the year.
