na.
The representation of th tional gar e in the States has been! pretty ragged this season, and the fact that the Eastern lads could gain a victory out of art American- team is news.
Thomson, who started pitching for the Americans, lasted only for nive innings. He had umpired the previous game, and almost fainted out in the feld in the eighth in- ning..
Muir, Williams, and Heartner took turns at the mound, but their efforts were not good enough to hold the Eastern.
Arculli and Lenz, for the Eastern, gave a very good account for themselves.

VOLUNTEERS LOSE
As was expected. the Overseas Chinese defeated the Volunteers in their game yesterday at the Cause- way diamond. The overwhelming score of 11-1 more than justified the playing of the Chinese team.
The Volunteer team was in bat form yesterday, when one considers the fact that only last week, ther

BOWLING GREEN & RECREIO DEFEATED
Record Win For Recreio Juniors
Kowloon Bowling Green's second defeat in two weeks, and the Recreio's huui- liation at the hands of the K. C. C. on Saturday enabled the C. C. C. "B" to come up to scratch with these two teams in the running for the senior runners-up position. all three teams having lost five matches to date. The U. C. C. "B" moreover, were responsible for the Bowling Green's defeat on Saturday, and their present form, if kept up, will very probably land them the coveted honour.
"
The Senior Champions have now won the title for the third year in succession, as they are now 10 points ahead of their nearest rivals, the Bowling Green with yet three more matches to be played. On Saturday they were heads and shoulders above the Taikoo Dock.
In the junior division, both the Bowling Green and Recreio won as expected, Recreio however, recorded the season's "highest win "when they beat the K. C. C. by 64 shots, all three skips topping the 30 mark.
Results and tables follow.
