A daring attack made by a number of Hoklos on a junk while sailing off Steep Island, east of Clear Water Bay, on a foggy morning in March last, was related by Acting Sub-Inspector A. Kinnear, of the Water Police C.I.D., before Mr. Himsworth at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday morning.
In the dock stood a man, named Wong Yee, charged with armed robbery on board class IV boat No. 2094K, and the possession of a six- chambered revolver and five rounds of 45 ammunition at an unnumbered house at Tal Long Village, Sai Kung district. New Territories.
After the prosecution had open- ed their case the hearing was ad- journed to Friday at 11.30 am. The case is for committal. 17

Outlining the case. ASI. Kin- hear stated that Ng Yee was the master of a seaweed produce shop ir. Shaukiwan and was in the habit of going round various villages in the New Territories to buy seaweed;
On March 10 last., Ng Yed to- 'gether with a foki, left Shaukiwan and proceeded to Hang "Hau by ferry. On arrival they walked to Sheung Shi-wan where they stay ed the night. The following morning they engaged a boat be- longing to a native of that village and made thele" way to High Island and after purchasing sea- weed they decided to return to Hong Kong.
They reached B place called Pak Ab. about mid-day on March 11 after which they sailed on their way to Shaukiwan.

For the defence, Mr. W. M. Brown pleaded guilty on behalf of the woman and not guilty in re- spect of the man. The pleas were accepted by Mr. Grimmitt and Mak Fun was discharged.
"Mr. Brown explained that he understood the woman WAS played as an amah in the fat and was technically in possession of the pllis. She had not received wages and the master had ab- sconded. He asked for a ̈small fine as the woman was not the principal Involved in the case.
Mr. Grimmitt: 'I have been in- structed to ask tor heavy penalty. The woman paid $24 rent and was in possession of the key to the wardrobe that con- tained the pills. It was in fact. a heroin factory but was not in use.
