Less Burdensome Mining Tax Proposed

Messrs. Harriman & Co., have received the follow- ing cable from Mr. John Hair, Chairman of the Manila stock exchange: The evening paper reports that Gov- ernor Quezon is against the proposed graduate mining tax. He proposes to substitute a less burdensome one." This refers to the following previously proposed mining tax:
