Silver prices rose 1/16 over the week-end for both deliveries, the quotations being 19 11/16 for, Ready and Forward. Silver advices re- ported India as having bought to a small extent Speculators re- sold.
quietly The market was steady. In America the rate was unchanged at 44 3/4 for Spot.
The London-New York cross-rate 'was quoted at 5.02 1/8. The New York-London rate was higher at 5.03 1/8.

STERLING
No business was reported. There were sellers at 1/3 15/32 June-July and 1/3 7/16 August-November, buyers at 1/32 higher respectively.
U.S. DOLLARS
A small business was done early in the morning at 32 1/4 for December delivery, The market closed at 1 pm. with sellers at 32 3/8 for June-first half July, 32 5/18 July and 32 1/4 August-November, buyers at 1/16 higher respectively.
SHANGHAI DOLLARS
Sellers were quoted at 107 5/8 for cash, buyers at 107 11/18 for cash. a
