JAPANESE STAY AWAY

Pelping, June 25. Mr. N. Fitzmaurice. British Con- sul, sitting in the Embassy 'to-day, resumed the hearing of the charges preferred against two British pri- vate soldiers, Herbert Cooke and Ralph Hunt, who are accused of the manslaughter of a Japanese officer named Sasaki, and causing bodily harm to another Japanese, The Crown Advocate, Mr. Victor Priestwood, is prosecuting, and Mr. P. H. B. Kent, of Tientám, is de- fending..

Cons:derable inconvenience was caused to-day when it was found that various witnesses for the pro- secution had not put an sp- pearance, the Court twice ad- Journing on this account. At the ! morning session, the only witnesses were two Chinese boys employed

at the so-called "Soldiers Club," who spoke of certain happenings there. The Court - then adjourned in order to give the prosecution an opportunity to produce further wit- nesses.

In the afternoon, Kin Hoh-gi, a Korean barmaid employed at "No.

cap badge, and Military Police by their armlets. May 20 was the first occasion she saw the two men she hud Identified visiting the house together; she could not remember any previous occasion. The other evaporator working with the No. 4 turbo-alternator is capable of a duty of 6,875 lbs. of water vapour per hour at 6 lbs. absolute, when supplied however with bled steam at 16 lbs. abso- lute.
