do all who live in this Colony, the rapid development and growth o Kowloon Tong and Kowloon City us residential areas must be strikingly evident. To help to- wards meeting the spiritual needs qf this growing district, a Sunday School was started in a private house early in 1933' with very en- couraging results. In September of the same year, as an experiment, premises at 3. Duke Street were rented as a Church House and to accommodate the Sunday School. The Church House was hallowed by the Bishop, and services have been held regularly since, with increas- ing congregations. It is of interest to note that as far back as 1830 the Diocesan Conference predleted the necessity for Church extension in Kowloon Tong and Kowloor. City, and results have proved that their opinion was correct.

Early in 1935. the whole position was carefully reviewed, and it was round that the temporary work under the charge of the Rev. N. V. Halward more than justified itself, and it was then that the decisien was taken to build a permanent Church.
