A pessimistic note regarding the prospects for this season was struck by Mr. E. F. Selk who presided at the annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Swim- ming Section which was held in the West Lounge, at Salisbury Road. Kowloon yesterday. Reference was made to the de- parture of several outstanding per- formers of past seasons, and the impending departure of still others and this fact greatly contributed to the weakened position of the swim- ming section.
