RUBBER QUOTA" INCREASE

London, April 28. The rubber quota increase,' an- nounced to-day, completely sur- prised the majority of traders, who generally anticipated no change. Consequently the commodity slumped sharply in London, Ams tezdam and New York, although the volume of liquidation was not great.

It is suggested that the Inter- national Committee's decision to roduce quotas was possibly “in- fluenced by the consumers" ad- visory representative, foreshadow- ing a large increase in United States consumption.
