CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LESSON SERMON
First Church Of Christ, Scientist
Subject: "Are Sín, Disease, and Death Realt
The subject of the lesson Sermon in all churches or Christ, Scientist, on Apr 12 will be: "Are Disease and Death Real?
Sin.
The Golden Text will be: "All Desh shall see the salvation of God." (Luke 3:6).
Among others, the following citations from the Bible will be read: "And. behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was. a ruler of the synagogue; and he fell down at Jesus feet, and be- sought him that he would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay adying. But as he went the people thronged him. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she And is not dead, but sleepeth. they laughed him to scorn, know- ing that she was dead.
And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called. saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again,
and she ягове straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. (Luke 8.41, 43, 52-55 1 Cor. 15: 26). The Leason Sermon will also in- clude the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to Baker the Scriptures" by Mary Eday:
"Man is immortal, and the body. cannot die, because matter has no life
to surrender.. The human.
death concepty named matter, disease, sickness, and sin are all that can be destroyed. It it is true that man lives, this fact can never
change in Science to the opposite
belief that man dies. Death is but ' another phase of the dream that existence can be material. No- thing can interfere with the bar. mony of being nor end the existence of man in Science.
If man is néver to overcome. A death, why do the Scriptures say, he last enemy that shall be des- troyed is death"? The tenor of the Word shows that we shall ob- tain the victory over death in pro- portion as we overcome sin. The great difficulty lies in ignorance of · what God is. God, Life, Truth, and Love make man undying, Im- mortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm; so-called, as well in the spiritual. Men's privi- lege at this supreme moment is to prove the words of our Master: "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death," (Pages 426; 427 and 428),
