Another design is a series of clawn's bows in white spotted in red on grounds of navy, brown, and black: this is for summer frocks and little coats. There are also clock dials. numerals, little animals. man- darins,pagodas, butterflies, sam- pans, and pots of flowers; some of these are in white on coloured grounds, the desigri having been done by colour extraction after the six has been dyed. Many small well-spaced designs are shown on crêpe de Chind grounds and en ripple crêpes. An "oval spot in satin faconne ori * crêpe ground is also new...

FLORAL PRINTS

Among Boral prints is a vivid closely set design in ittle squares of coloured flowers; about 24 colours are used in all, and the slik is a heavy crêpe de Chine. This has been chosen for model gowns and is likely to be seen at garden parties.

Another good flower print is like a china flower in parma and purple in a tinted white A Persian striping on crêpe Matika which has a 8011 rippled surface is printed in small design in seven colours. In Nanking blue on a white ground there is a light rose design; this is also beige and red and belge and green and is typical of some of the best two-colour prints. A Japanese flower effect is seen on, other silks, and there is a free- hand water-colour flower design shaded in two tones of grey and/ mauve on an Ivory' crêpe de Chine ground. A folüge design ‘appears on a heavy, slik for evening gowns and many of the abre ornate flowered 'designs are repeated on chiffon..
