RIFLES TOO GOOD Although in arears at the inter- vai, the Rißes finally overcame Re- crelo by 5 goals to 2 in their Sec- ond Division SOCCET match at King's Park.
Play opened sensationally, the Rifles scoring through Rooney, but the Recreio equalised soon after when Costa netted. The Portu- guess then went ahead when Ri- belro scored with a ground, shot from a pass by Joanilho.
In the second half Recreio faded the soldiers soon away, and equalised through Boyd and took the lead through Ryan.' Boyd then added two further goals.
HARD LUCK VARSITY
A keen Second Division soccer game between the Club and Uni- versity, resulted in a draw on the Club ground each side scoring
once.
Had they had a little more luck The University would have won, Blake being decidedly unfortunate not to score on two occasions in the first half.
The University took the lead through Yong, who netted a good goal after 15 minutes, but shortly Efter Nicholls equalised with a large-range shot.
S. CHINA OVERWHELMED A very one-sided game was wit- nessed at Caroline Hill when the Royal Welch Fusillers overwhelmed nine Bouth China players in their Second Dlytsion soccer encounter by. 9 goals to nil. Bumster (5), Dairs (2), Dennis and Sullivan scored for the soldiers.
