S. CHINA REPEATS LAST YEAR'S
SUCCESS IN SHIELD
Double Defeat In Senior League
S. China "A" deleated Poiler by the odd goal in three in the final of the Senior Shield yesterday after an exciting and even encounter. The standard displayed was well up to cup-tie-soccer, In fact it was one of the best games seen for many a final cup tie
encounter-
S. China were fuil value for their win. They were the more consistent of the two teams in an all round combination of de- tence and attack and but for the sterling defence put up by the Police rearguard the score might have been a different one.
The Junior Shield final was another thrilling encounter. The Sappers repeated their success of a year ago when they once again trounced the E. Lanes to the tune of three goals to one.
Saturday's soccer results turned out very much as expected. Both the S, China teams went under and in the case of their “A“ Wong Mel Shun was ordered off the field for dangerous play. Two Kowloon players and another S. China player were also warn. ed in the course of the game.
...China Athletic won"against Navy, while the Club had an easy task against a depleted Recreio eleven. Stonecutters Gunners pat: up a creditably good show against the R..R. and effected a soare of the points.

The first hair was even. It was only at the last minute of that half that Sandiora netred for the Lancs. He had had some hard luck previously when two of his shots just missed the mark:
South China were on the attack in the second half. Cheuk Shek- kam tested Harmsworth in the Lanes' goal with a really fine shot. dive full had to Harmsworth length to save and turned the ball around the post,

South China now completely fell away and the game came to a close with the Soldiers swarming the Chinese goal,
